At Milton Auto Services, we have invested heavily in the latest, up to date diagnostics systems, which allow us to identify and repair the electrical/mechanical faults on your vehicle.
A modern car can produce thousands of different fault codes. Having the correct diagnostics equipment is vital for identifying fault codes and warning messages. Sensors in your vehicle continually report to the control units on how they are performing. If a problem occurs, it logs a fault code on the control units memory. On an up market Mercedes-Benz, there could be up to 60 control units, that will send messages and fault codes to the diagnostics system.
A diagnostics system has to be able to read any faults or messages and allow us to identify the issue causing these fault codes. Faults that create a fault code will not always activate a warning light, but may cause issues with your vehicle.
Many other garages use cheap fault code readers that allow them to erase the code temporarily. At Milton Auto Services we use the code to help fix the underlying issue before erasing the error codes to prevent the fault returning.
We provide our customers with a print out of the fault codes listed*
